In conjunction with the International day of Peace celebration, women of all faiths and backgrounds gathered to launch the Soul of Women Initiative in Yorkshire, England. The event began with meditation to help cleanse the soul and the recitation of prayers. Each participant shared a prayer from their faith tradition.

Participants made and shared their pledges to make a difference to society and create a harmonious ambience through their authentic gifts. Through their feminine wisdom, women discussed their role in helping to resolve some of the many conflicts in their families and communities. Participants also shared their thoughts around the UN sustainable development goals, especially Sustainable Development Goal 5 – Achieve Gender Equality and empower all women and girls.  The group will be meeting regularly to carry our practical action for peace. Plans include a peace march and a peace cafe.
